Viking Vines Vineyard is a family-owned vineyard and agritourism destination located just west of Fargo, North Dakota. The 41-acre property includes approximately eight acres of cold-hardy wine grapes and is part of the growing North Dakota grape and wine industry. The vineyard features varieties suited for the northern climate, including grapes used by regional wineries to produce wines such as Marquette, Frontenac, and La Crescent.
The property has deep agricultural roots and includes a historic granary that has been restored and repurposed as a tasting room and gathering space overlooking the vineyard. Today the farm blends traditional agriculture with agritourism, welcoming visitors to experience vineyard life in North Dakota.
Viking Vines focuses on sustainable growing practices suited to the northern plains climate, including careful vineyard canopy management, winter-hardy grape varieties, and practices designed to protect vines during North Dakota’s harsh winters. The vineyard contributes to the regional wine industry by supporting local wineries with cold-climate grapes and promoting agricultural education.
In addition to grape production, the property hosts seasonal events, vineyard dinners, tours, and overnight RV guests who travel through the region. Visitors are invited to walk through the vineyard rows, learn about cold-climate grape growing, and enjoy food and wine in a relaxed rural setting.
Viking Vines Vineyard’s mission is to share the experience of North Dakota agriculture while creating a welcoming place for people to gather, learn, and enjoy the beauty of the prairie vineyard landscape.
