Tools and Resources for Marketing Local Food

Now more than ever, North Dakotans want to buy more food directly from local growers. In recent conversations, farmers said they need training and support to better market their products. In response, FARRMS created marketing education especially for ND farmers and food businesses.

We have webinars and online farmer chats so you can learn what has and hasn’t worked for other North Dakota growers. We will connect you with free assistance from experts who will help you with websites, webstores, and online tools. We will show how farmers can sell to local grocery stores.

Webinars and Technical Assistance for Online Marketing

During the COVID-19 pandemic we saw a surge in interest in local food and more people shopping online. Some North Dakota farmers market vendors, CSA farms, and value-added food businesses already use websites, online shops, and social media to market and sell their products. Many more may be interested but don’t know where to start. FARRMS is working with The Entrepreneurial Center for Horticulture at Dakota College at Bottineau and Dane Johnson, from The NICE Center at NDSU to offer two webinars and free technical assistance to help producers with online marketing.
