The Central North Dakota Pastured Poultry Institute (CNDPPI)located in Wimbledon ND, is a group of farmers, lead by Linda Grotberg, working together to teach and train others to raise pastured poultry. Pastured poultry is a means for farm families, retired folk, homesteaders, hobby farmers, and 4-H’ers to provide and improve food security, to increase and maintain farm sustainability, and to increase sustainability of rural communities. The objective of this project is to establish an institute to teach and train people to raise pastured poultry and to provide the knowhow for the production and marketing of pastured poultry.

Terry & Janet have been organic farmers for 30 years. They have certified grains and alfalfa. They use animal manures and plow down green manure for fertility. Terry has sat on certification committees doing reviews and assessments for organic certification agencies. They direct market their grass fed beef cattle. Janet is co-owner of the Wooly Girls wool business. They can answer questions on beef cattle, organic grain farming (soil fertility, crop rotations, weed control, insect control etc.), contract and direct marketing.

David has over 30 years of experience in all areas of organic culture – weed control, soil fertility, use of animal manures and green manuring, plant selection and breeding for organic culture, chicken and turkey production on a large scale, pork and poultry production for home use, tillage practices, grain storage, marketing and home food production. David and his family have a large garden that uses plant mulch. He also raises garden seeds for seed catalogs.
